This is another recipe from my 1955 Marshall Township PTA. Burnece McDonald was the mother of one of my classmates. This recipe calls for her Baking Powder Biscuit Recipe that was published earlier on this blog. You can put the name Burnece's Baking Powder Biscuits in the upper left-hand corner block on this page to pull it up.
(Use baking powder biscuit recipe)
3 tbsp. melted butter
1/3 cup raisins, chopped
1 cup sugar
1 orange, ground up
Roll biscuit dough 1/4 inch thick into rectangular pieces about 10 inches wide. Brush with melted butter. Mix together ground orange, raisins, sugar, and spread over dough. Roll as for jelly roll. Cut in 1 inch slices. Place flat on greased baking sheet or in greased muffin pans. Bake 20 - 30 minutes at 425 degrees. Serve warm, remove from pans when hot.
