This recipe was cut from a 1970s egg carton.

1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
3 large eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans, optional

Mix sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vegetable oil together in a large mixing bowl. Add the flour, bakings soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix to blend well. Add chocolate chips, vanilla, and pecans, if desired. Stir to mix in well. Pour into a greased and floured 2-inch deep 9x13-inch pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool one hour before cutting into bars.

This weekend is to be raining and cold so I guess I will do some baking and soup making. This is going on the list to bake I know for a fact the kids will love it.

Don't you just love baking and making soup on cool, rainy days? The only thing to make that better is a good book to read while enjoying the fruits of your labor! Hope you had a good Holiday! Since I'm diabetic, tell the kids to eat a bar for me!
